With all the iPhone app websites out there it’s hard to stand out in the crowd. Nearly all of these app sites around just host or link to apps written by others. Hardly any of them offer apps that are specifically and uniformly designed for the iPhone. That’s where GetLeafllets comes in.

GetLeaflets is Blue Flavor’s newest project; an iPhone apps page that has been built and is provided by one single company. The site was launched only a few days ago and it’s already getting some great press. TechCrunch’s Michael Arringtoncalled Leaflets a “must-have iPhone app” while Tuaw (The Unofficial Apple Weblog) called it “one of the most impressive portals…to date.”

With apps like an all purpose search engine, Flickr, del.icio.us, and many others Leaflets is sure to be a very popular apps portal. The apps here are specially designed to be usable even when wi-fi is unavailable. For example, their stripped-down New York Times app loads on AT&T’s EDGE network in about 6 seconds while the New York Times site takes nearly a minute to load on EDGE.

Unlike some iPhone app sites, the apps on Leaflets all have a uniform design because they are all from the same company. There are also many useful apps available like a Newsvine portal and several IM clients. Like all app pages, Leaflets promises more on the way.

Right now the Leaflets service is free, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a fee involved in the future. Depending on how much this hypothetical membership fee would be, it could be totally worth it to access this great app portal.

If you’re looking to buy an iPhone online then watch out! There’s a new Trojan virus out there that’s targeting future iPhone buyers. The virus, Aifone.A, is part of a botnet of approximately 7500 infected computers that could cost you a lot more than just an iPhone.

This extremely sophisticated virus re-directs web browsers to a false iPhone homepage, and any personal information inputed on the site is handed directly to cyber criminals. The bot is so sophisticated that even search engine results are re-directed to the false homepage. It even generates iPhone ads that take you to the site.

For more information about this Trojan check out PandaLabs press release.

So it’s been nearly three weeks since the release of the iPhone and third-party apps are popping up all over the place. While many of these apps help with organization or add more functionality there are many that fill a large void in the iPhone’s design; namely Sweet Awesome Games.

With a big, full color screen, wi-fi, and a touch interface similar to the popular Nintendo DS the iPhone seems pretty much made for games. Unfortunately, Apple has provided no downloadable games for the device. Despite rumors that the likes of EA and Nintendo were looking into developing games for the iPhone, Apple has given no hints that this is at all true.

However, there are options for game-loving iPhone owners. Already there are scores of websites offering iPhone game apps. Without Flash and Java on the iPhone’s Safari browser the options are few for really sweet awesome games, but there are many fun and simple touch and play game apps all o’er the internet.

If there’s a flagship game for the iPhone it would probably be Tilt. Created during the iPhone development camp by the folks at XEODesign, Tilt is the first motion controlled game for the iPhone. To play you tilt your iPhone to feed a little guy named Flip who likes to eat falling leaves and butterflies.

One of the many sites that offers iPhone games is Kudit. “Kudits” are described on the website as being “simple, easy to use applications that are specifically designed to run elegantly on the iPhone.” Whatever, all I want to know is how much it costs and what apps it offers.

Well, Kudits don’t cost much. Many of them are free and you can get a 3 month membership for either $1.99 or $4.99. Not too bad. There aren’t too terribly many apps available right now but that’s sure to change. Right now Kudits offers some games, useful apps, and a lot of time wasters.

Many other sites like iGiki and MacMost have web-based iPhone games available either for free or for a small fee. As time goes on, though, there are sure to be more iPhone games available online and maybe even some that are available for download.

Remember how I told you that there are new iPhone apps coming all the time? Well, yeah, I totally wasn’t lying. Yesterday NetSuite, Inc announced its very own business app for the iPhone. NetSuite, Inc is one of the leading companies for providing integrated online business applications for small and mid-size companies and now offers those services for business people on the go.

Introducing SuitePhone, not just a series of apps but NetSuite FOR YOUR iPHONE. The nature of NetSuite’s on-demand system allows the transfer onto the iPhone to happen nearly seamlessly. Since there’s no hardware required for this online business it makes a lot of sense to be able to access NetSuite on the iPhone.

NetSuite users simply access their existing accounts for, get this, no extra charge. That’s right, there’s no charge for the SuitePhone app. Awesome. Now, I’m not business minded, but this makes a lot of sense. With business apps like this its completely possible that the iPhone could replace the Blackberry and other PDAs as the go-to guy for busy business people. Especially if they use NetSuite.

Of course there are some issues that will have to be worked out if the iPhone is going to be a must-have for entrepreneurs, but it’s young…give it time. With the kind of names it’s attracting, iPhone has a future so bright its gotta wear shades.

Today I had my first meeting with the iPhone. We sat down and had a little chat. I was interested in what makes him so special, what features he has, and which applications he comes with. Well, Ladies and Germs, I was very impressed with Mr. iPhone.

First of all, I was surprised at how compact it was. Yes, I’ve seen the commercials where the iPhone fits into the palm of someone’s hand, but I was still surprised at how light it was. At just under 5 ounces, the iPhone proves that big things come in small packages. The 3.5 inch screen is just the right size for viewing videos, the internet, and applications.

Ah yes, the applications. There are several handy, useful, and fun apps available on the iPhone right out of the box. Of course everyone knows that iPhone is a cell phone, but its also an iPod and a web browser. Its an organizer, a calendar, and a notepad. An interactive map, a camera, and an album…all out of the box!

Gosh, Liz, gush much?

Well, maybe a little, but iPhone is just all kinds of nifty. Take, for example, iPhone’s camera. The lens is barely noticeable on iPhone’s backside, but the pictures it takes are incredible. Full screen, bright colors, and no flash was needed when I took a picture in a shadowy office.

You’ve probably seen the commercials where someone plays YouTube videos on their iPhone. Looks pretty neat, huh? Well…it is. YouTube has its very own button the main screen so there’s easy access to your favorite videos. There are already 10,000 YouTube videos on the iPhone network with plans to have all of YouTube’s videos iPhone encoded by the fall.

Overall I was very impressed by the iPhone apps immediately available to customers. The iPhone is not just a blank slate when you open the box, it comes ready to go with movies, internet, and other features. Of course these are just some of the apps available for the iPhone. Third party developers working with Apple have developed lots of applications. There are more coming all the time!
